Brandon Cordon, APCC, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor is highly relational and brings himself authentically to into the therapeutic environment. When clients feel they have tried everything and heard it all, Brandon uses an eclectic, integrative set of research-based modalities which set the framework for healing instead of relying on symptom management as a path to peace.

As a therapist, Brandon seeks to help clients experience new ways of relating, soothing, and maintaining the gains made in their therapy sessions using techniques based on the latest clinical and neurological research promoted by Dr. Otto Kernberg, Dr. Daniel Siegel, Dr. John Townsend, Dr. Gabor Mate, Dr. Peter Fonagy, and Dr. Diana Fosha. His goal is not only to equip clients with symptom management skills but to also facilitate neuroplasticity as the beginning of the path to healing. These skills help clients move from merely survival in life to actual thriving.

This focus sets Brandon apart from traditional approaches used by many other mental health providers, where clients learn all the right answers externally, but internally have nearly given up feeling shrouded in shame. His approach allows the client to develop significantly more capacity for stress management, as the clients can now identify triggers use the new skills learned in the healing environment.  As a natural consequence of this approach, clients experientially learn healthier skills in managing relationships in their lives.

Brandon holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Townsend Institute, Concordia University, Irvine.  His undergraduate degree is in Theological and Biblical Studies from Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Here at Encompass Counseling Center, Brandon feels very grateful to pursue his life’s passion and purpose, finding it energizing and rewarding as he shares his integrative modalities with his clients.   Their satisfaction speaks of the quality of his work.
